Manufacturing sales in Alberta rose by 0.9 per cent in March to $6.2 billion, says Statistics Canada.
The federal agency reported on Wednesday that sales were also up by 5.2 per cent year over year.
Across Canada, manufacturing sales rose 1.4 per cent to $57.1 billion in March, said StatsCan.
“Higher sales at primary metal; aerospace product and parts; fabricated metal product; and the other transportation equipment industries were mostly responsible for the increase. Overall, sales were up in 13 of 21 industries, representing 72 per cent of the Canadian manufacturing sector,” it said.
On an annual basis, sales rose by 6.4 per cent in Canada.
