February was not a good month in Alberta for new motor vehicle sales.
New data released on Monday by Statistics Canada shows that sales in the province fell to 15,158 vehicles for the month, down from 16,526 in February 2017.
The level of sales in Alberta was also the lowest monthly level since January 2017.
Dollar volume of sales dropped to $693.8 million for the month compared with $724 million a year ago.
Across Canada, new motor vehicle sales rose to 128,313 units compared with 125,284 a year ago.
In that month, total dollar volume rose from $5 billion to $5.3 billion.
