Good news for auto dealerships in Alberta.
A report released on Thursday by Statistics Canada said new motor vehicle sales in the province were just over $1 billion in April, up from $978 million in March.
The federal agency said total sales in the province jumped to 22,417 in April, which was also up from 21,218 in March.
Across Canada, new motor vehicle sales rose to $8.2 billion in April from $7.9 billion in March.
Total sales across the country jumped to 195,806 in April from 189,971 in March.
