Total Alberta building permits hit $1.2 billion in April, down 4.5% from March but up 15.4% on an annual basis

In reporting the data on Wednesday, Statistics Canada said the value was down 15.4 per cent from the previous month but on an annual basis it rose by 31.7 per cent.

Across the province, total building permit value of $1.2 billion fell by 4.5 per cent from March but it increased by 15.4 per cent on an annual basis.

In Alberta, residential permit value was $722.8 million in April, which was off by 11.7 per cent on a monthly basis but up 6.5 per cent year over year. Non-residential permit value of $481.8 million was up 8.7 per cent month over month and by 31.8 per cent year over year.
